Service Description

INTRODUCTION After a short theoretical introduction over a cup of tea, you'll dive into hands-on practice. You'll test at least five dye plants on swatches of natural fabrics (silk, linen, cotton, etc.) while exploring the techniques and gestures of eco-printing. You’ll then create a final piece on a small silk scarf (45×45 cm) or a cotton kitchen towel (70×45 cm). While your creation steeps (“cooks”), you'll experiment with tatakizome — a Japanese technique of leaf hammering — combined with iron acetate mordanting for subtle tonal shifts. You’ll leave the workshop with: → your hand-dyed finished piece → a detailed and illustrated sample notebook → and the confidence to continue experimenting at home! The workshop takes place at the Alexandrie dye studio, 28 rue Ernest Renan, 22220 Tréguier. All materials are provided.
