. INDIGO DYEHOUSE BAB ALMA .
Essouira . October 2025

For one week, we immersed ourselves in shades of blue at Bab Alma Indigo Dyehouse, led by David Santandreu in Essaouira. During this advanced indigo training, we were able to follow the entire process from start to finish, from harvesting and extraction to the dye baths themselves.

It was an incredibly rich week of learning, lived in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere, surrounded by beauty. We were among meters of indigo-dyed fabrics created by our friend Nuances de Flow, who was preparing her collection right alongside our indigo vats. Minds were buzzing, notebooks filled with notes and splashes of blue, legs were tired, lower backs aching — in short, dyeing as we love it, in this blue paradise.

. FIRST COLLECTION .

Chapter 1 · Retour à l’Île · June 2025

Two women shaped by the sea, seeking refuge on a small, wild and familiar island. A place offering a new beginning...

The plant-based colors of this collection are inspired by the wild Breton coastline and the ever-changing hues of the sea.
The palette moves through shades of coral, seaweed, skin-tone nude, sand dunes and celadon blue.
All fibers are 100% natural — linen, silk and organic cotton — chosen for their softness, fluidity and freedom of movement.

All raw materials sourcing as well as design and pattern-making took place in Paris.
The dyeing process was entirely carried out in Alexandrie’s laboratory in Brittany, and all clothes were crafted in the Morbihan region by Brocéliande Confection.

A responsible, environmentally respectful collection, produced on a small scale and 100% made in France.

. DYEING IN INDONESIA .

Bali · February 2025

During her time in Indonesia, Marie took the opportunity to meet with several master dyers and natural dye workshops on the island of Bali — where plant dyeing is still practiced in some regions.

She fell in love with Threads of Life, a serene sanctuary nestled on the edge of the jungle, completely off-grid, where students learn the craft of natural dyeing year-round.

A week in this tropical paradise was devoted to deepening her indigo techniques, experimenting with local plants and dye processes, and discovering Batik — a traditional Indonesian technique using hot wax to create patterns on fabric with brass stamps, brushes, or cantings, before dyeing the cloth.

The month was full of inspiration, meaningful encounters, vibrant color exchanges, and precious advice. She returned filled with wonder and bursting with new ideas — the perfect energy ahead of a new collection!

Terima kasih, Bali!

. WEAVING THE COLOURS OF A REGION .
Tréguier · September 23, 2024

As part of a residency at the Beauport Abbey by artist-designer Dorian Etienne, the Savina Professional Arts High School partnered with the Abbey to host the event "Tisser les couleurs d'un territoire" (Weaving the colour of a region)

For one month, second-year tapestry students participated in hands-on workshops exploring plant dyeing, foraging for dye plants, tufted tapestry, spinning, and more — guided by Dorian Etienne and guest artists including Stéphanie Hegaret from the dye plant farm Livadenn, and of course, Alexandrie!

We were delighted to welcome the students to the Alexandrie lab for an afternoon initiation into botanical printing. The dyed fabrics they created will be used in future upholstery and textile projects as part of their professional training.
